Description:

Various fungi, mainly of the family Erysiphaceae,  which appears on the leaves and stems of plants.Powdery Mildew on Ceropegia conrathii

Plants that get infected usually do not have sufficient sunlight or ventilation and are exposed to high humidity or excess water.

If the fungus is left unchecked it will destroy the whole plant.

Treatment:

Environmentally freindly:

  • Remove and destroy infected parts of plant.  Increase ventilation and the amount of sunlight plant receives.  Adjust amount of water plant receives.

Chemical:

  • Treat the plants with a  good systemic fungicide for a few weeks, repeat treatments are vital.
