Distribution: This spp is found in moist sandy areas in Namaqualand and southwards to Piketberg.

Description: A. ciliolatum is a perennial herb that grows 12cm tall, it has a corm.  There are two basal lanceolate leaves (15 cm long).  A small margin is visible on the leaves.

Flower: Many white flowers appear in a cluster enclosed by a paler green nearly white, ovate bracts.

Common names:  Anther's in a boat.  Uilblaar (Afrikaans), English translation - I think, "Owl leaf".  Kokerdoosblom (Afrikaans), English translation - "?boxflower".

Point of Interest:  There are 28 spp of androcymbium in SA of which 13 occur in Namaqualand.
